దక్షిణాయనం (Dakshinayana)
Sun's southward journey - considered less auspicious
Overview
Dakshinayana is the six-month period when the Sun travels southward, from Karka Sankranti (mid-July) to Makara Sankranti (mid-January). It is considered the 'night of the gods.' While not inauspicious, some prefer to avoid major life events during this period.
