తిథి (Tithi)

The lunar day - one of 30 days in a lunar month

Tithi is the lunar day calculated based on the Moon's position relative to the Sun. There are 30 tithis in a lunar month - 15 in the bright half (Shukla Paksha, waxing moon) and 15 in the dark half (Krishna Paksha, waning moon). Each tithi has its own deity and significance for various activities.
